The first 3 articles are in Norwegian, but you can enjoy some wonderfull pictures of the nature and the skiing possibilities in North Norway.
Lyngen, close to Tromsø - http://www.dn.no/d2/reise/article1644372.ece. Take also a look at this article - http://www.dn.no/d2/reise/article1600456.ece

har også skrevet en litt ”morsom” vinkling på det å gå topp tur: http://www.dn.no/d2/reise/article1643623.ece.

Cross country skiing, a wonderfull day, in the close surrounding mountains.
In Tromsø you can take a ski bus from Centrum of town out to Tønnsvika,
from there you ski in some really nice winter landscapes, take a stop at
Skarvass bu (a small cabine) before you take on your skis for the rest of
the trip close to Tromsdalstind (the city mountain top) down the valley
to the city. The nature are fantastic. But here comes the CRITIC: The bus
are OK, but they go just 2 times pr. day on weekends. And it is difficult on
Sundays to find corresponding transport. The city have to do a better job
for the citizens and also for all the new tourist coming to visit Tromsø. In
my critic today I have to also mention our nice cable car in the city to one
city close mountain top, from there you have the views, you can go trekking,
skiing and enjoy the nature surroundings in this urban adventure town. BUT
its hard to find for tourist, and it does not operate all year, the city
needs a new one a larger one. Tromsø is the land of opportunities, you have
to see it, by kayak, sailing boat, skis, mountainebike, trekking, climbing.
And it is close to Lyngen the world famous place for off-piste skiing from
mountain top to sea level. THE CITY are working on making your experience
even better, I hope!

Backcountry evening in the surrounding mountains of Tromsø. It is wonderfull
opportunities around the city just to take a nice, after work, evening back
country trip. Inspiration, motivation, new energy - backcountry skiing in
the city skyline.

Cappucchino and cakes ay a fantastic bakery in Riga. Compared to Moscow's
cappuccino yesterday this was 5 times cheaper and 5 times better. Not the
best weather but a nice morning run and a nice time at the market today. I
am coming back with my woman, nice town. Send from my nokia.

Lunch in Moscow after walking over the Red Square. Just some ours in the capital of Russia, on the way home from one week in Arkhangelsk. The cappuchino at the picture must be the worlds most expencive.
